About Dental Bonding
For Fishers area patients with minor cosmetic imperfections in their smile, dental bonding and contouring is often the fastest and easiest way to repair dental flaws. Our seasoned dentists, Drs. Matthew Martin, Stephanie Martin, and Lynn Marshall, create custom treatment plans to suit your specific needs and concerns. An effective and quick cosmetic treatment, bonding and contouring applies composite resin (the same material used for tooth-colored fillings) to hide tooth discoloration, fill gaps between teeth, make a tooth longer, or even change the shape of a tooth. With proper care, the results can last up to ten years. If you want a great way to improve your smile, schedule an appointment to learn more about bonding and contouring at Martin Dentistry in Fishers, IN.

"My experiences here have been great here. The staff are all super cool/friendly. Dr. Stephanie is great—has a calming presence about her which goes a long way for me. The hygienists are very approachable and easy to talk to, as are the staff handling financial stuff—always willing to explain the details when I’m not sure of something. Facility is always really clean and well organized. I don’t plan on going anywhere else."- L.S. / Google / Mar 12, 2020
"This is the most comfortable dentist office I have ever been to. The dentists (the Martin's) are absolutely fantastic professionals. The dental assistants are just as gifted. The front desk staff are highly experienced in the management of insurance issues, and are so friendly and helpful explaining everything. I highly doubt I will ever be as satisfied by another dental office. 5 stars all day"- W.W. / Google / Mar 08, 2020

What to Expect
Dental bonding and contouring will be typically done in one visit at our office in Fishers, IN. You shouldn't need any anesthesia, but options for sedation can be discussed during your consult for concerns like fear, anxiety, and a strong gag reflex. Once you are ready, we will begin applying a conditioning gel which will help the resin to bond correctly to the tooth. From there, we will apply the composite resin to the needed areas with the help of one of our dental assistants. The composite resin will be hardened with a special light before more layers are added. Once the bonding process is set, we will contour and polish the composite resin and your natural teeth for an even result.
Patients should expect results to last for 3 – 10 years after this treatment. Good dental hygiene can prolong the duration, so patients are encouraged to follow a good home oral care routine and visit their dentist for regular exams and cleanings. Since dental bonding is easier to chip or stain than dental veneers, patients should avoid staining foods and drinks, quit smoking, and avoid biting hard objects. Even after the results diminish, the teeth can often be easily re-treated in order to prolong the results.
